Innovative Manufacturer: Cascade Tek
Cascade Tek, Longmont, CO
Mary Babitz, Vice President
Briefly describe your company's products and services.
Cascade TEK is a product testing laboratory where products are subject to harsh, real-world conditions, making sure products survive in their intended environments. Vibration, shock, temperature/humidity, altitude, thermal shock, sand/dust, UV, salt-fog/corrosion and package testing services can uncover latent defects, prevent warranty issues, and insure reliable products are brought to market.
What makes your company unique?
Cascade TEK filled a definite void for testing services in the Front Range when Oracle's test lab in Longmont decided to stop accepting outside customers.
How does your company innovate?
A test lab must have an everchanging and diverse collection of capabilities in order to meet a large body of test requirements. We constantly add new test capabilities based on market demands, updated specifications from the U.S. Military, Automotive and Avioinic industries.
Please describe an innovative company product, service, or process.
To my knowledge, Cascade TEK has the only incline Impact Test Machine in the area. This is a very important test required by medical device manufacturers and those needing to test the stability of heavy, full pallet packages.
What is a recent highlight of your company's success?
Our Longmont Colorado Lab was recently awarded ISTA Certification for package testing by the International Safe Transit Association. This ensures our customers' packages can withstand the rigorous shipment/handling and their product arrives in new, working condition.
What separates your company from the competition?
Colorado manufacturers in need of testing typically have to use government labs or take advantage of ''fill in'' time at local aerospace firms. With Cascade TEK, testing customers get confirmed test schedules, a nationally accredited lab and a very streamlined test experience over government labs or large aerospace firms.
How is your company advancing the industry?
There is such thing as overtesting your product. We pay special attention to make sure customers are not conducting tests they do not need and are taking advantage of the latest, industry-accepted test standards.
Where do you see your company in five years?
We are very optimistic about the market demands of the Front Range. In five years, we expect our Colorado laboratory to be larger and offer more testing services than our headquarters.
